The history of the cultivation of vines in the area of Velké Pavlovice, in the countryside below the Pálava dates from the year 276AD, when it was planted in this area by a Roman legion from the 10th Roman Outpost, falling under the famous Vindebona Legion and Legio Decima Gemina - Pia Fidelis.
In the year 1322 the first guild of licensees in Europe was founded here, whose modern equivalent is the C.E.C.A.V.I. organisation (the Confederation Europe des Categories Auxiliares des Activities Viti - Vinicoles).
The tradition of the production of Kosher wine was established here at the start of Spring 1574, and its whose certification was verified by none other than the famous rabbi and philosopher, creator of the legendary Golem, Chief Rabbi of Mikulov and later Chief Rabbi of the Royal Town of Prague and Czech Kingdom - RABBI JEHUDA LÖW BEN BEZAZEL.
300 years later, in the year 1874, the land where the Baron Aaron Günsberger Vineyards were to be found was classified as first-class grade - according to the French categorisation of Premiere Grand Cru.
In the year 1998 the tradition which had been violently interrupted, first by the Nazi and then communist occupation, was revived.
Today this wine is considered for its quality, originality and prestige as the absolute peak of the Czech wine market.
